Welcome.

Riley Spicer, queer leftist in tech trying to make the world a better place.

I’m Riles 👋 I’m a human working to navigate the world, cultivate care & joy, and generally try to leave things better than I found them. I want to learn together as you work to live your best life, how to be your best self, and how to create the world you want to live in. I believe in us.

How can you change the world? When we cultivate care, compassion, and the confidence to bring our visions to life, we create the world we want to live in. The world can feel hopeless, but we don’t need to let it get us done. Together, we can cultivate radical hope while envision a world where everyone can thrive.

Tiktok is a fun place to share short videos and ideas. If you’re over there, follow along and join the conversation about work, life, and how to be our best selves in the difficult capitalist landscape in which we find ourselves. We can chat about how to live our best lives and build a better world. It’s not all dancing teens 🤣

Part of building a better world is cultivating community from a place of care. It takes practice. It takes a village. So join my mailing list! You’ll get regular reminders on ways to be your best self, which will help you as you create your world. I’ll also share book recommendations and reminders to stay hydrated. We all need some reminders 😉

Are you a reader trying to be a better human?

Consider joining the Soft Heart Book Club, a virtual leftist book club. We read one book each month centered around different topics meant to help us expand our capacities to care and share and create the world we want to live in. We can’t do this alone, so cultivating community in which to learn and work is key. I would love to see you there!
